Free rental marketplace Leasebreak registers 100,000th user
US: Free accommodations marketplace Leasebreak.com has registered its 100,000th user by increasing its focus on the short-term rental space, particularly in New York City.
The firm, which came out of beta in 2015, lists furnished short-term rentals, furnished sublets, lease assignments, lease breaks and rooms for rent or shares. Renters, brokers and landlords are all able to search and list apartments for free on the platform.
The company says its doubling down on the short-term rental market in New York City has resulted in “extraordinary traffic” rises from visitors seeking out listings for rentals and furnished apartments.
Leasebreak says its differentiators as a company are that it is “committed to being free to post and search for short-term rental and sublet listings” over a “pay to play” approach, and its core company value of transparency, whereby it requires each rental or sublet on its site to publicly display the exact address.
In a press release, Leasebreak founder and owner, Phil Horigan, said: “Since we don’t require registration to use our website, this 100,000 registered user milestone reflects only a small percentage of our actual user base. However, these are arguably our most loyal users, and we have continued to improve the website in large part based on their feedback.”
